Redbridge, $6.99 six-pack
Beers have been made from everything from pumpkins to spruce, but all have in common wheat or barley, an anathema to those with gluten issues.
Along comes Anheuser- Busch with Redbridge, the first nationally available beer that is made from sorghum and is wheat- and gluten-free. An estimated 3 million Americans have wheat allergies.
Redbridge is a light, pale copper lager with a slight musky aroma but it is a smooth-drinking beer which, if you didn’t know, you would swear was made with the usual grains. It contains 4.8 percent alcohol (by volume).
Redbridge is made at A-B’s plant in Merrimack, N.H., and is available in some parts of Colorado. | Dick Kreck
