Site of the week: Although the reform isn’t going far enough, film fans welcomed news last week that industry executives plan an overhaul of the movie ratings system. They will try to make the ratings board and its wacky decisions more transparent and also add warnings to “hard-R” movies to wave off parents taking younger children. Families should take advantage of a tool already in existence: a weekly e-mail from the ratings board explaining ratings of that week’s new movies. To sign up for it, go to mpaa.org/FlmRat_RedCarpet.asp.

Watch this Web video: The following Web videos get at least a PG-13 rating for some mild profanity, but they are darn funny. And it’s more evidence that amateur efforts on the Internet can prompt a lot more belly laughs than your average fare on “SNL.”

Wickedawesomefilms.com does short pieces like “Punchy,” the obnoxious but occasionally useful party guest, and “The Gayest YouTube Video Ever.” Go to the website, or start with youtube.com/watch?v= DwjM6VxToas.
