BOULDER, Colo.-
Anna Prins posted a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds Wednesday night to lead Broomfield to a 56-43 victory over Berthoud in a Class 4A semifinal game.
Top-seeded Broomfield (26-1) will play second-seeded Harrison (24-3) for the state championship at 6 p.m. Friday.
With Broomfield leading 37-33 early in the fourth quarter, the 6-foot-6 Prins took over in the paint, scoring 8 points during a 10-4 run that gave the Eagles a 47-37 advantage with 5:07 to play.
The Broomfield sophomore finished the period with 10 points.
Chaundra Sewell scored 16 points and Katie Calderwood added 12 for the Eagles, who have won 24 straight games.
Berthoud held an 8-4 lead before Broomfield went on an 11-0 run that gave the Eagles a 15-8 advantage early in the second quarter.
The Eagles led 22-16 at the break.
Brittany Fisk scored 17 points and Maggie Murtagh, who averaged more than 16 points per game and had 67 3-pointers coming in, scored 10 for second-seeded Berthoud (23-4).
Murtagh, a senior, was 2 of 9 from 3-point range against Broomfield, which outshot Berthoud 52.5 percent to 33.3 percent in the game.
