BOULDER, Colo.-
Alystia Moore scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Harrison beat Glenwood Springs 57-41 Wednesday in the Class 4A semifinals at the Coors Events Center.
Paige Ricker added 15 points for the second-seeded Panthers (24-3), who will play the winner of the Berthoud-Broomfield game for the state championship Friday evening.
Moore, who averages 9 points a game, scored 12 in the first half to lead the Panthers to a 28-19 halftime advantage.
Harrison, from Colorado Springs, led by 13 points (32-19) early in the second half, but Glenwood (20-5) managed to cut the deficit to 46-41 on a basket by Sam Ciani with 3:22 to play.
Harrison then went on an 11-0 run to end the game.
Glenwood, a No. 3 seed, struggled to penetrate Harrison’s full-court press in the first half, and the Panthers capitalized by scoring 12 points off turnovers.
The Demons settled down in the second half, often passing to post players Kelsie Hert, who scored 16 points, and Ciani, who finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Sharaya Selsor was the only other player with double figures. She finished with 11 points for Glenwood, which appeared in the state semifinals for the first time.
Harrison, which led from start to finish and has won 11 of its last 12 games, seemed to outhustle Glenwood, particularly in the first half, relying on quick ball movement and multiple passes to generate scoring chances.
The Panthers outrebounded Glenwood 42-33 and had 17 second-chance points to the Demons 6.
