Spring fling
Now we know why they call it mud season.
The snow is melting in Colorado’s high country and it’s a bit mucky to be tromping around, so we’re heading indoors for Moor mud body treatments and Indian clay wraps. We’re also ready for facials that will slough off winter-dead skin, scrubs to polish our skin to a high shine, and fitness classes to whip our minds and bods into shape.
Vail is meeting these desires through the end of the month, offering lodging and spa packages as part of its Spa’d at Vail promotion.
For as low as $243 per person – a steal compared to in-season rates – participants get two nights lodging, a facial, massage, and yoga or Pilates class. Rates are based on double occupancy, but spouses and friends can opt out of the spa and class services and get only lodging. Reservations at vail.com
Prices vary depending on which of the 11 lodge and condo properties you select. Treatments are available at four participating spas, including the Spa at Vail Mountain Lodge, Aria Spa at the Vail Cascade, Vail Racquet Club and Studio Massage at the Holiday Inn (the latter two facilities don’t offer facials).
