The worst of the stormy weather is over, despite cloudy skies and very wet roads this morning.
The National Weather Service reports that the rain showers today will be very light, closer to drizzle. The roads this morning have many puddles along with some flooding that is rapidly draining away.
The Colorado Department of Transportation has the ramp closed from northbound Interstate-25 onto westbound Sixth Avenue. All the other low-lying trouble spots along I-25 are open and drained.
The South Platte River is expected to subside today, after flash floods claimed the life of a toddler last night. Denver Fire Department dive crews will resume their search this morning.
A teenaged boy apparently drowned last night in Gold Smith Gulch near East Yale Avenue and Quebec Street. Firefighters have called off the search for him.
No problems were reported today along the mountain roads or to the south below Colorado Springs and Pueblo.
The few remaining thunderstorms are moving south past Castle Rock and Larkspur. Crowley County to the southeast is receiving some rain but that is expected to clear.
Temperatures in the metro area will rise into the upper 50s and lower 60s today. The rest of the week will dry out and warm into the 80s, perfect for lawns, flowers and vegetable gardens.
