FORT COLLINS, Colo.-
A Colorado weather expert says patches of drought remain in the state, and few areas could handle an extended dry spell.
Colorado State University climatologist Nolan Doesken says the state is in better shape than a couple of years ago and does have some room to maneuver.
He said the mountain snowfall wasn’t exceptional, especially in northwest Colorado.
It will take a heavy winter snowfall to remove the threat—and then only temporarily.
