Two men who reportedly went to a local hotel to have sex with a girl they believed was 17 have been arrested, Lakewood police said Wednesday.
Emilano Delgado Rodriguez, 35, and Noberto Butanda, 27, were charged on suspicion of soliciting for child prostitution and criminal attempt.
Butanda also was arrested for child abuse when police said they discovered he left his 2-year-old daughter in his vehicle while he went into the hotel to meet the teen.
Police spokesman Steve Davis said an undercover female officer posted an ad Tuesday on the Internet website craigslist.com saying she was a prostitute who was “almost legal.”
The two men responded separately, with the officer telling them she was 17 and directing them to the hotel where Lakewood and Jefferson County authorities arrested them, Davis said.
