Getting your player ready...

When you think about it, baseball is a lot like pro wrestling, except with less oil and folding chairs. And funny tights.

So it works that former Montreal Expos and Denver Bears outfielder Warren Cromartie, a fan favorite in Japan, where he played for the Yomiuri Giants, has signed up as part of a tag-team match.

“I have to represent all baseball players,” said Cromartie, 53.

Longtime wrestler Tiger Jeet Singh, who walks around with a sword in his mouth, said he wants to hurt Cromartie in the ring: “Pro wrestling is a vicious game. He should stick to baseball.”

Cromartie’s comeback: “I’m not scared. I’ve seen guys bleed before. He is a little crazy … but I’m not afraid of him.”
