Denver police are investigating the shooting of a man whose body was discovered on a street in Northeast Denver early this morning.

Authorities are still trying to identify the man found just before 6 a.m. lying on grass next to the road near the intersection of 39th Avenue and Newport Street, said John White, Denver police spokesman.

A passer-by flagged down police and told an officer about the man lying on the ground, White said.

“We don’t have any suspects,” he said.

Homicide detectives also do not know what motivated the shooting, White said.
