DES MOINES, Iowa—The Powerball jackpot was expected to rise to an estimated $27 million for Saturday after no one matched all six numbers in the midweek drawing.
Wednesday’s winning numbers were 1, 2, 15, 17 and 49. The Powerball was 35 and the multiplier was 5.
Players matching all five numbers and the Powerball would have won or shared the $20 million jackpot.
Power Play tickets that match the first five numbers, but miss the Powerball, win $1 million each, and there was one of those. It was sold in Louisiana.
Colorado’s top prize was $10,000 for a ticket that matched the Powerball and four of the other numbers.
Powerball was created in 1992 and launched in Colorado in 2001.
The game is now played in 29 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
