Judo champ Olson making a comeback

Four-time judo national champion Brian Olson of Longmont is coming out of retirement to try to win an Olympic medal in Beijing in 2008.

Olson was on the 1996, 2000, and 2004 Olympic teams but did not medal, although he did medal at the world championships in 1997. “I think one of the biggest reasons I decided I wanted to come back was, obviously, to try and win an Olympic medal after being so close so many times,” Olson said. “I had a successful career, but that’s the one thing that’s eluded me.”
