DES MOINES, Iowa—The Powerball jackpot was expected to grow to an estimated $50 million for Saturday, since no one matched all six numbers in the midweek drawing.
Wednesday’s winning numbers were 8, 20, 29, 42 and 43. The Powerball was 35 and the multiplier was 5.
Two Power Play tickets sold in Idaho and Indiana matched the first five numbers only to win $1 million apiece.
The top prize in Colorado was $500 each for 32 Power Play tickets that matched other number combinations.
Powerball was created in 1992 and launched in Colorado in 2001.
The game is now played in 29 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
