GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—Wreaths from President Bush and former first lady Betty Ford and her family were placed today at former President Ford’s grave site in commemoration of his birth date.
The wreaths were placed at the site, located on the grounds of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum, in a morning ceremony. The Ford family plans to make the wreath-laying a tradition each July 14th.
Ford, a Michigan native, bought a home in Beaver Creek after leaving office and was active in local affairs in the Vail Valley.
He died December 26th.
