Colorado casinos paid a record $112 million in gaming taxes in fiscal 2007, which ended June 30, the state’s Division of Gaming said today.
Tax proceeds for the year were up 5.5 percent from $106.1 million paid during fiscal 2006, which was the previous record. The state’s mountain casinos posted a record $798.9 million in revenue in fiscal 2007, up 4.4 percent from $765.4 million.
For June, casinos posted an 8.5 percent increase in revenue. The state’s 44 casinos recorded adjusted gross proceeds – which is total bets minus payouts – of $68.9 million in June, up from $63.5 million in June 2006.
Black Hawk’s 20 casinos had revenue of $48.7 million during the month, Cripple Creek’s 18 casinos posted $13.4 million and Central City’s had six casinos had $6.8 million.
