DENVER—The Colorado Avalanche re-signed forward Mark Rycroft to a one-year deal Tuesday and also added free agent defensemen Jeff Jillson and Dale Purinton to one-year contracts.
Rycroft, 27, appeared in 66 games last year and recorded six goals and six assists. He ranked second among Avalanche forwards with 80 hits.
Jillson, 26, was the 14th overall pick by San Jose in the 1999 NHL entry draft. He has appeared in 140 games for San Jose, Boston and Buffalo. Purinton, 30, has appeared in 181 games, all with the New York Rangers from 1999-2004. He appeared in 55 games last season for the Hartford Wolfpack of the American Hockey League.
“Dale adds a measure of size and toughness to our organization’s depth chart and Jeff brings offensive ability from the blue line,” assistant general manager Greg Sherman said. “They each have a solid balance of experience both at the American Hockey League and NHL levels.”
