Colorado Springs police are investigating the deaths of two men in two separate incidents.
Just after midnight this morning, police received a report of a shooting in the Verde Meadows Apartments at 1440 S. Chelton Road. The caller said a man had been shot and that two people were loading the body into the back of a red pickup truck.
Police stopped the truck a short while later on South Academy Boulevard and found the body. The unidentified male was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police learned that the victim had been contacted by two males at his apartment. The victim went outside with the two men and was shot, according to two people who also were inside the apartment. A stray bullet grazed the arm of a woman who was inside the apartment.
The two inside the apartment told police they looked outside to see their roommate on the ground and the two men gone. So they loaded the body into the truck to remove it from the scene.
Police are looking for the two shooters, who were described as black males. Their ages and the clothing they wore is unknown. One suspect is tall and the other is short, with bad teeth, police said.
In a separate incident Monday evening, police were called about a suspicious vehicle on Rampart Range Road about one mile from Balanced Rock. Police found the body of an unidentified male inside the car. No physical description was available.
Persons with information about either incident are asked to call the Colorado Springs Police Department at (719)444-7000.
