Republican governor candidates will debate Thursday in event co-sponsored by The Denver Post

Scott Bottoms, Barbara Kirkmeyer set to take part in live broadcast at 6 p.m.

Two of the Republican contenders for Colorado governor, Scott Bottoms and Barbara Kirkmeyer, will meet Thursday night in a debate sponsored by The Denver Post, and .

Bottoms, a state representative from Colorado Springs, and Kirkmeyer, a state senator from Brighton, are competing for the GOP nomination in the June 30 primary. The third Republican candidate, Colorado Springs pastor Victor Marx, declined the debate invitation.

The debate is scheduled for one hour. It’s set to begin at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast live on Denver7 and CPR. Check back at 6 p.m. to watch the debate live here.

Last week, The Post and its partners hosted a debate between Democratic gubernatorial candidates U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet and Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser.
