DENVER—A man accused of setting off firebombs under seven sport-utility vehicles pleaded guilty Wednesday to two felony charges and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Grant Barnes, 25, pleaded guilty to one count of use of an incendiary device and one count of second-degree arson. In exchange, prosecutors dropped several other charges, district attorney spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough said in a statement.
The firebombings happened between March 18 and March 21 in Denver’s upscale Cherry Creek neighborhood. Two vehicles were burned but no one was hurt.
Investigators had said Barnes’ devices were similar to those used in Europe by an animal rights group. Investigators found instructions on the Internet on how to build the devices.
