Aurora resident Peter Mosby finished ninth among 16 contestants in the Field & Stream Total Outdoorsman Challenge, an event won for the second straight year by Paul Garrett Thompson, a fly-fishing and hunting guide from Marion, N.C.
Thompson won a $25,000 cash prize and top billing in a three-part TV series on Versus beginning Sept. 9.
Aerial stocking
In its continuing effort to enhance recreational fishing opportunity for native cutthroat trout, the Colorado Division of Wildlife will use aircraft to stock 325,000 fingerlings in high mountain lakes.
These fish, from 1 1/2 to 2 inches in length, represent the Colorado River, greenback and Rio Grande strains. The operation will occur primarily during the first two weeks of September.
