Qwest amended the employment contract of new chief executive officer Ed Mueller to allow his wife and youngest daughter to use the company’s corporate jet without him present, according to a regulatory filing Friday.
The change will accommodate his daughter’s commute from California, where she is finishing her senior year in high school, to Mueller’s new home in the Denver area. Mueller is expected to close on the Denver home in October.
Mueller replaced Dick Notebaert as CEO of Denver-based Qwest three weeks ago.
Mueller, 60, will have a base annual salary of $1.2 million with a target bonus of $2.4 million. He’ll also receive 2 million stock options, with a strike price of $8.37, and 896,000 restricted shares.
