GREELEY, Colo.—Weld County prosecutors have filed vehicular homicide and other charges against a teenager after a hit-and-run accident killed a nine-year-old girl.
District Attorney Ken Buck says 15-year-old Carlos Manzo will be prosecuted as an adult.
Jasmine Hernandez was killed August 27th when a pickup backed over her and her cousin. The cousin, 8-year-old Ibeth Rodriguez, was seriously injured.
Carlos faces seven other charges including leaving the scene of an accident, assault and driving without a license.
If convicted, he could face 10 to 41 years in prison.
