Authorities have released the name of a 5-year-old boy who drowned at Bear Creek Lake Park on Sunday afternoon.
Kasey C. Allen of Denver died after he was discovered in a shallow swimming area of the lake, said Steve Davis, Lakewood police spokesman.
His family members, who were attending a family outing, reported him missing Sunday afternoon, Davis said.
Minutes later, he was found under water and was immediately transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Lakewood detectives continue to investigate the incident, Davis said.
