HELENA, Mont.—Montana quarterback Cole Bergquist was named the Big Sky Conference offensive player of the week on Monday.
Idaho State safety Terrance Calloway was named defensive player, while teammate Dan Zeidman, a punter, won the special teams honor.
Bergquist, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound junior from San Clemente, Calif., completed all 13 of his passes for 163 yards and a touchdown in Montana’s 49-0 victory over Fort Lewis. He played about half the game, helping Montana build a 35-0 halftime lead.
Calloway, a 5-11, 200-pound senior from Sylmar, Calif., intercepted two passes and registered four tackles in Idaho State’s 37-11 win over Southern Oregon. He returned an interception 45 yards for his first career touchdown in the first quarter, giving Idaho State a 10-2 lead.
Zeidman, a 6-1, 205-pound senior All-America candidate from El Cajon, Calif., helped the Bengals win the field-possession game against Southern Oregon. He punted just three times, averaging 28.7 yards per punt, but all of his punts came inside the Southern Oregon 45-yard line. He pinned Southern Oregon inside its own 15 all three times.
