Defending Class 5A champion Columbine rolled to a 41-point first half Saturday in Monument en route to rocking Lewis-Palmer 55-3 in the South Metro League.

The Rebels, ranked No. 1 in The Denver Post/9News 5A poll, improved to 4-0 overall and in league, and recorded their 17th consecutive victory.

Running back Orenzo Davis rushed for 206 yards and four touchdowns. Backfield mate Jeff Cicchinelli added 120 yards and two touchdowns.

Also, three Rebels quarterbacks combined for 157 yards passing, a high for a program better known for its rushing.

Lewis-Palmer remained winless in four tries.

HOLY FAMILY 49, DENVER CHRISTIAN 13: Drew Hawkins threw three touchdown passes and ran for another as the top-ranked Tigers had no trouble with the host Crusaders in 2A nonleague.

Hawkins, the son of University of Colorado head coach Dan Hawkins, threw for 232 yards on just eight completions.

Holy Family, which meets defending state champion Faith Christian next weekend in the Flatirons, is 4-0. Denver Christian is 0-4.

GOLDEN 49, ARVADA 6: In Arvada, the Demons (4-0, 1-0) got three touchdown passes from Ryan Stokes, two to Koby Whittek, and Colin Leffert ran for three scores in a 4A Mountain Plains victory over the Reds (0-4, 0-1).

ABRAHAM LINCOLN 21, NORTH 12: At All-City Stadium, Juanito Reyes scored two touchdowns and Sean Williams added one as the Lancers (3-1, 1-0) won their 4A Denver Prep opener against the Vikings (1-4, 0-1).

ADAMS CITY 21, WEST 20: The Eagles (1-4) erased a 14-point deficit in the first quarter, rallied for fourth-quarter touchdowns by Eloy Martinez and Brian Scott, then stopped a two-point conversion attempt to save a 4A nonleague victory over the Cowboys (1-4).

STANDLEY LAKE 27, GREEN MOUNTAIN 0: In Arvada, Dave Eden kicked field goals of 45 and 18 yards, added three conversion kicks and threw a TD pass as the Gators improved to 4-0 overall in a 4A Mountain Plain opener against the winless Rams.

DAYSPRING CHRISTIAN 37, SEDGWICK COUNTY 24: In Greeley, Luke Greener passed for three touchdowns and caught another as the No. 5 Eagles downed the No. 3 Cougars in the 8-man Plains.
