Don’t expect Tim Robbins to show up, but the rest of The Players in the ski, snowboard and associated filming industry will be hanging in Aspen this weekend for the third edition of the resort’s cutting edge celluloid celebration known as The Meeting. Beginning with Thursday night’s amateur showcase of athlete art and video – the NEPSA awards – the gig gets rolling in earnest Friday with films from Poor Boyz Productions, Eric Iberg and a Mack Dawg double-feature at the Wheeler Opera House in downtown Aspen. Saturday night’s main event includes a screening of this year’s Teton Gravity Research offering – “Lost and Found” – at 8:30 p.m. at the Wheeler. Several others from the newest crop of ski and snowboard films will be screened at Belly-Up, all of them open to the public for a modest fee. The film fest is surrounded by parties, events and a few surprises from the pros featured in the films and industry influencers on hand to discuss trends and tales from behind the scenes.
