BROOMFIELD, Colo.—Beau Schoolcraft of Kent Denver won the boys Class 4A state boys golf championship Tuesday with a 5-under-par, two-day total of 137.

He was the only player to shoot a round in the 60s at Broadlands Golf Course and he did it twice.

“He’s one of the greatest players that’s played in this state,” Kent Denver coach Bob Austin said.

Schoolcraft finished six shots ahead of teammate and runnerup Matt Schovee (143). Jay Tymkovich of Peak to Peak and 2005 state champion Nick Umholtz of Greeley Central tied for third, 11 shots behind Schoolcraft.

B.J. Smith and David Hanley also helped Kent Denver win the team title by 29 shots over Pueblo Centennial. Greeley Central finished in third with 460.
