OGDEN, Utah—City officials are hoping to attract the U.S. governing body of Olympic cycling sports if it relocates.

USA Cycling may be displaced from its current home in Colorado Springs, Colo., if the U.S. Olympic Committee decides to tear down the aging Olympic Training Center.

Steve Johnson, USA Cycling’s chief executive officer, said Ogden and another city are in the running if the 48-employee organization does relocate. Johnson declined to identify the other city.

Johnson, a former professor at the University of Utah, said he met with Ogden Mayor Matthew Godfrey and Mike Dowse, president of Amer Sports, and was impressed with the city during a recent visit.

Johnson said USA Cycling should make a decision by the end of the year.
