DENVER—Anti-immigration advocate and presidential candidate Rep. Tom Tancredo said he would drop out of the presidential race if the Colorado Rockies lost the World Series. The catch? Mitt Romney would have to agree to drop out if the Red Sox lose the series.

After the Red Sox 13-1 thumping of the Rockies in Game 1, Tancredo, R-Colo., was unwavering.

“You can’t change a bet after the series starts,” Tancredo spokesman Alan Moore told the Rocky Mountain News Thursday.

Romney’s campaign, which earlier had ignored Tancredo’s bet, issued a statement before Game 2 that read: “Gov. Romney is in the race to win the race.”
