Fort Collins police are searching for a suspect they believe sexually assaulted three young women and choked a fourth in August and September.

The assaults began on Aug. 20. A 22-year-old woman was walking in Troutman Park, 500 Troutman Way, at 10:40 p.m. when a man grabbed her from behind, threw her to the ground and began choking her, said Rita Davis, Fort Collins police spokeswoman.

The suspect suddenly stopped, apologized, and offered to drive her home, Davis said.

Four days later, a man entered a house in the 100 block of Lyons Street, sat next to a 19-year-old woman at 2 a.m. as she was sleeping. When she awoke, he ran out of the home, Davis said.

On Aug. 29, a man entered a home in the 800 block of Overland Trail at about 4 a.m., and sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman.

On Sept. 28 at a home in the 1100 block of Westward Drive a man sexually assault a 21 year-old woman as she slept. When she awoke and confronted the man, he ran out the front door.

Later the same night, in the 1800 block of Broadview Place between 4 and 5 a.m. a 21-year-old woman awoke to find a man tugging on her pants. She yelled at her attacker and he fled, Davis said.

The suspect is described as being stocky, 25 to 30 years old, about 5-foot-8, with a shaved head or slight hair growth. The man entered homes through open doors or windows, Davis said.
