WASHINGTON — In a risque YouTube video, Ken and Barbie dolls are joining calls by Democrats for a federal product-safety official to resign. Unhappy over travel paid for toy companies, among other criticisms, federal lawmakers have asked Nancy Nord to quit as acting chairwoman of the Consumer Product Safety Commission. In the video, posted by a liberal advocacy group, Ken and Barbie dolls meet at a bar after breaking up and go back to Barbie’s Dream House. Fast-forward a week, and Barbie complains to Ken she is “having some symptoms.” When Ken asks her what’s wrong, she answers, “It’s lead poisoning.” Barbie accessories were among 2 million toys Mattel recalled this year because of lead paint or other safety issues, said Anne Thompson, spokeswoman for Campaign for America’s Future.
