Edmonton, Alberta – John-Michael Liles will be back in the Avalanche lineup tonight, for the team’s holiday matchup here with the Edmonton Oilers.
The young defenseman was a healthy scratch for Tuesday’s game in Calgary, but Avs coach Joel Quenneville said this morning Liles will be back, and rookie Kyle Cumiskey will be a scratch.
Peter Budaj will start in goal for Colorado, which has lost three straight games on its current road trip, by a combined score of 14-3.
In other Avs news, defenseman Jordan Leopold stickhandled with a puck at the morning practice, and may return a bit sooner than originally forecast with his broken wrist.
Quenneville said Leopold will be re-evaluated soon, and may return to the lineup by the middle of December.
