DENVER—Police say a 10-year-old girl has been killed in a gunfight that may have been prompted by a gang or drug dispute.
Authorities are looking for a single suspect who fled the scene in southwest Denver.
Denver Police Detective John White says a 911 caller reported the shooting just before 10:30 p.m. Monday.
When police arrived they found the girl with a fatal gunshot wound inside the apartment.
White says investigators believe the suspect and people inside the apartment were shooting at each other.
Police were at the home all night and have been trying to reconstruct the shooting.
