A strategic smile can make a guy instantly more attractive to women, says a study in the Journal of Nonverbal Behavior reported on in this month’s Men’s Journal.
Researchers asked 50 women to watch videos of men smiling, and the guys who let a smile spread slowly across their face were rated as more attractive and trustworthy than those who flashed a grin.
“Women see this subtle delay as being more genuine,” said Eva Krumhuber, the study’s author.
