DENVER—Pueblo County has been removed from the state’s election watch list after the new county clerk corrected problems with signature verification.

Secretary of State Mike Coffman put the county on his watch list in March. He said county officials broke the law in 2006 by not checking to make sure signatures on absentee ballots matched the signatures they had on file.

Coffman said Monday the newly elected Pueblo County clerk corrected the problem.

Denver, Douglas, Montrose and Routt counties remain on Coffman’s watch list, mostly for problems that created long waits for voters in the November 2006 election.
