An infant died in Greeley on Thursday as a result of injuries consistent with child abuse, and the baby’s father has been arrested in connection with the death.
Three-month-old Johnnyce Hernandez was already dead when her parents brought her to the North Colorado Medical Center. Greeley police arrested John Luis Hernandez, 30, on suspicion of child abuse resulting in death, according to a press release.
Officers responded to the emergency room after an autopsy of the child indicated her death was a result of trauma.
Hernandez, who has also gone by the name of John Elworthy, is being held in the Weld County Jail without bond and on a parole hold, police said.
