Cowboy Mouth | These New Orleans rockers started the new record, “Voodoo Shoppe,” in their native city, but after Hurricane Katrina destroyed much of the town, the band finished it in Atlanta. The group seems creatively energized after the natural disaster, and they’ll be supporting the new record on Thursday at the Bluebird.

Honkytonk Homeslice | After Billy Nershi pulled the plug on String Cheese Incident earlier this year, it was clear he was going to be spending more time on his other band, Honkytonk Homeslice, also featuring his wife, Jilian. And outside of a couple music festivals in Steamboat Springs in January, you can catch the ‘Slice on Friday at the fifth annual Mark Vann Foundation Benefit at the Boulder Theater and on Saturday at the Oriental Theater.
