Turning Japanese
Gimme Gimme Pillow Toast (gimmegimmepillowtoast .; 303-872-7706) is the latest addition to Belmar’s artsy Block 7, located on the east side of the Lakewood retail complex, between entrances to the South Saulsbury Street parking garage. Store owners Janene Hurst and Andrew Novick developed an appetite for Asian pop culture through travels in Japan and Hong Kong. Their shop boasts a rich selection of hard-to-find Asian clothing, accessories, snacks, toys, housewares, books, magazines, videos, stationery and lots of other “wacky stuff.” Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., the store hosts a holiday sale featuring complimentary hot sake and Japanese Christmas cake. Art at home
Fine art lovers have until Dec. 20 to peruse the decorative lamps, rugs, mirrors, ceramics and other handcrafted home furnishings on show and for sale as part of “Creative Spaces: Items for the Home.” This exhibit at The Lincoln Center in Fort Collins (417 W. Magnolia St.) includes work by nearly two dozen artists from around the country.
