A 36-year-old British man pleaded guilty today and was sentenced to two years for luring and arranging travel to England for an underage girl he met on the internet, authorities said.

Richard Shaun Noble came to the United States in September 2007 and was contacted by DA’s investigators after it was learned he had continued a relationship with a 16-year-old girl for more than a year before her parents found out, authorities said.

Noble pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree kidnapping.

On Aug. 1, the girl’s parents contacted authorities.

The girl had been planning to meet with Noble in England in early August without her parents’ knowledge, authorities said.

Her parents also discovered that Noble had purchased a cellphone for the teen so that she could call him, and he helped her obtain a passport without their knowledge or consent, authorities said.

Noble also helped purchase the airline ticket for her to fly to England, authorities said.
