Colorado’s unemployment rate climbed four-tenths of a percentage point to 4.1 percent in November, pushed by high gasoline prices and a late start for ski resorts, state officials said Friday.

The November rate matched the highest this year, set in January, said Donald Mares, director of the state Department of Labor and Employment.

Adjusted for seasonal factors, the number of Coloradans with jobs declined by 2,900 last month to about 2.6 million.

The number who couldn’t find work jumped 9,500 to just under 111,000.

The trade, transportation and utilities sector added 8,900 jobs in November because of seasonal hiring in retail.
