COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Colorado Springs has tied a grim record with 28 homicides in 2007.
Police say the city also had 28 homicides in 1991.
This year’s total was first thought to be a record, because the 1991 figure had been recorded as 27. But police discovered the 1991 number had been miscalculated and was one more than originally reported.
The 28th homicide of this year came last week when 31-year-old Adrian Jimenez-Torrez was fatally shot.
