Getting your player ready...

Jay Cutler’s immediate plans for the offseason? In the immortal words of Bob Seger, to get outta of Denver, baby.

The interesting part is what Cutler has in mind for a few weeks down the road, after he gets a mental break from a long season that seemed even longer.

Cutler said after Sunday’s season finale that he plans to hook up on the East Coast with teammates Brandon Marshall and Tony Scheffler. The three plan to hang out together and work on timing issues in the passing game.

They have mini-camps, quarterback camps and training camp, not to mention 50-some organized workout sessions, but these three are going to put in even more time. Not because the coaches are on their cases to do it. Because they want to get better.

And they’re willing to put in extra work to do it. In the end, that’s the only way out of this mess for the Broncos. Sure, they need more talent, but the talented players they have have to improve.
