DES MOINES, Iowa—The Powerball jackpot was expected to rise to an estimated $83 million for Saturday since no one matched all six numbers in the midweek drawing, the Multi-State Lottery Association said.
The winning numbers Wednesday were 2, 13, 20, 21 and 23. The Powerball was 24 and the multiplier was 3.
Players matching all six numbers would have won or shared the $72.9 million jackpot.
Two Power Play tickets, sold in South Carolina and West Virginia, matched the first five numbers only to win $600,000.
The top prize in Colorado was $300 for 33 Power Play tickets that matched other number combinations, Colorado Lottery officials said.
Powerball was created in 1992 and launched in Colorado in 2001.
The game is now played in 29 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
