NEW ORLEANS — Le’Della English’s short jumper from the paint rallied New Orleans to a 54-53 win over the University of Denver, although the Pioneers’ Sara Benham tried a last-second potential game-winner that rimmed out.

DU (5-10, 0-4 Sun Belt) took a five-point lead coming out of the half on two 3-pointers by Brooke Meyer. The Privateers (9-6, 3-1) regained the lead with a 6-0 run keyed by Talishia Young’s two baskets.

CSU-Pueblo 62, Colorado Mines 54

PUEBLO — The ThunderWolves (10-5, 4-3 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference), made 7-of-14 3-pointers in the first half while cruising to a 41-26 halftime lead.

Stevie Hagemeister led the Orediggers (8-8, 3-3) with 17 points.

Metro State 68, W. New Mexico 50

SILVER CITY, N.M. — Stephanie Sauter had 20 points and the Roadrunners (8-6, 4-2 RMAC) outscored the Mustangs 44-18 in the second half.

SILVER CITY, N.M. — Kris Taylor scored five straight points to give the Mustangs the lead, and they made just enough free throws late to seal the win.

Lawrence Billings led the Roadrunners (9-8, 2-4 RMAC) with 13 points.

Colorado Mines 66, CSU-Pueblo 61

PUEBLO — Kyle Pape made two free throws with seven seconds left to give the Orediggers (9-7, 2-4 RMAC) a three-point lead, and Chad Friehauf made two more with two seconds left. Julien Franklin had 20 points for the ThunderWolves (4-10, 1-6).
