A 32-year-old woman who gave birth in the bathroom of a Cherry Creek bar and left the baby to die pleaded guilty today to child abuse resulting in death.
Erin Pendleton faces up to 40 years in prison when she is sentenced Feb. 28 in Denver District Court.
Her infant son was found by a janitor on June 26, 2004, in the women’s restroom of Legends Bar and Grill.
Pendleton gave birth the previous night in a bathroom stall.
The newborn was at the bottom of a trash can, wrapped in a plastic bag that was covered by a layer of trash, according to court records.
