DENVER — A 32-year-old woman who gave birth in the bathroom of a Cherry Creek bar and left the baby pleaded guilty to child abuse resulting in death on Wednesday.
Erin Pendleton faces up to 40 years in prison. Sentencing is set for Feb. 28 in Denver District Court.
Her infant son was found by a janitor on June 26, 2004, in the women’s restroom of Legends Bar and Grill.
Pendleton gave birth the previous night in a bathroom stall.
The newborn was at the bottom of a trash can, wrapped in the plastic bag, which was covered by a layer of trash, according to court records.
