DES MOINES, Iowa—A Powerball ticket sold in Louisiana matched all five of the numbers drawn to win Wednesday’s jackpot worth $97 million, the Multi-State Lottery Association said.
The winning numbers were 9, 18, 19, 38 and 47. The Powerball was 11 and the multiplier was 5.
Lottery officials said eight tickets across the country matched only the first five numbers to win $200,000 each.
The top prize in Colorado was $50,000 for a Power Play ticket that matched the Powerball, plus four of the other numbers, the Colorado Lottery said.
Powerball was created in 1992 and launched in Colorado in 2001.
The game is now played in 29 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
