Getting your player ready...

This just in. Tickets to sporting events aren’t as cheap as they once were. In fact, they’re downright expensive, and that’s not even counting the seven-buck beers.

But you haven’t seen anything yet. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the most expensive ticket in the history of American sports. The only question is whether the game will actually be played.

That would be a Packers-Patriots Super Bowl. The Packers, with Brett Favre making his last stand, and the Pats, with a shot at a perfect season. Talk about must-see TV. We as sports fans couldn’t go wrong with that matchup.

If Favre wins, he could go off into the sunset a la John Elway. If the Pats win, we would have something to tell the grandkids about.

Having seen what tickets went for for the Broncos-Packers matchup in Super Bowl XXXII, I can only imagine what it would cost to see Favre, 10 years later, going up against the mighty Pats. OK, I’m done imaging. If you’re at the mercy of the scalpers, you’d better have upward of $10,000 in your pocket for a pair of decent seats.
