ECKERT — The young victim of a house fire in Eckert has been identified as a 2 1/2-year-old boy.
The Montrose Daily Press reported that Stoney Bridgeo died in the blaze that broke out at his home Wednesday. Fire crews arrived shortly after noon and learned the boy was still inside, but they couldn’t get into the house because of extreme heat.
Delta County Undersheriff Mark Taylor said authorities believe the fire was “a tragic accident.”
