OGDEN, Utah—Dezmon Harris scored 21 points, including all five shots he took from 3-point range, while grabbing four steals and four rebounds as Weber State defeated Northern Colorado 70-54 on Saturday night.
Arturas Valeika also had a big night with 16 points and 14 rebounds, his eighth double-double of the season, while Kellen McCoy scored 12 for the victorious Wildcats (12-10, 7-3 Big Sky Conference).
Leading 42-39 with 12 minutes left in the game, the Wildcats went on a 20-6 run to take a 62-45 advantage with 5:05 left. Juan Pablo Silveira scored Weber State’s final six points during the stretch as the Wildcats gained their biggest lead of the game.
Jabril Banks scored 12 points to lead Northern Colorado (10-14, 4-8).
A 3-pointer by Harris started a 12-2 run which gave the Wildcats a 28-22 lead with 2:05 left in the first half. However Northern Colorado scored four points before the end of the half and opened the second half on a 3-0 run to lead 29-28 until Harris hit another 3-pointer.
